Gary Gynn powers toward the try line to score Camels 4th try in their 33-7 win over London Cornish at the Molesworth Field.
This pre-season friendly saw Bude field a total of 28 players whilst Camels kept their squad to 18. Camels out performed their one league lower hosts by nine tries to one spread between seven Camels players. However it was a testament to Bude that they never dropped their heads once and remained competitive through the four quarter match. The dry warm conditions also saw Bude use more open play strategies rather than their pick and drive moves that thas been dominant in previous seasons. It took Camels only five minutes to register points when Dominic Hawkey touched down out wide on the left wing. Against the wind and on the the side line full back Luke Davison addeda further two points for first of three conversions. The pressure on Bude took its toll as Camels were quicker to the breakdowns and flanker Mark Grubb touched down under the posts two minutes later. Outside centre Dan Prout successfully converted to make it 14 points in Camels favour. (contd)......
The New Season 2010/2011
Following a superb season where the 1st team both gained promotion to South West 1 and won the Cornwall cup and the 2nd team won the Cornwall 1 merit table we are now looking to continue our development and make an impact in our new league.
With continued development off the pitch and further plans to improve facilities it is an exciting time at the club where both the rugby and the infrastructure continue to develop and strive to move the club forward.
It will no doubt be a testing season making the step up to South West 1 rugby but with the obvious talent throughout the club and the exciting brand of rugby we strive to play we will no doubt continue to provide exciting rugby for players and supporters to enjoy.
We are confident the players will adapt and equip themselves well in their new environment and hope we will continue to receive the superb support that has aided the club in its continued progression.
Everyone at the club is looking forward to what we are sure will prove another enjoyable and successful season and again thank everyone involved last season for their efforts.
Anyone interested in becoming more involved at the club or able and willing to donate some time to one of the new sub committees is asked to contact Matt Bailey through the contacts link of this site.
